It’s a beautiful day on Loch Lomond in Scotland. That’s Lake Lomond for all you non Brits. I’m sitting in our cottage enjoying a quiet morning - our final day in the U.K. While visitng Edinburgh I was able to research Celtic Numerology. Before coming here, a friend tipped me off about the Celts’ love of numbers. I have found this to be true. One piece of evidence exists in the beautiful names the Celts used. Another clue is apparent in the stories, especially the legends of generals. One such professional soldier was Cunedda. Cunedda wasn’t his personal name but a Celtic military word meaning ‘good leader.’ A strong memory of this extraordinary man exists in the popular name Kenneth. Before Cunedda left southern Scotland for Wales around 425 AD, a poem remembers him this way. "Splendid he was in battle, with his nine-hundred horse, Cunedda …the Lion …the son of Aeternus." Mention of his nine-hundred horse is very significant. 9 is the number which contains every number before it, from 1 through 8. So, it represents completion. 9 is the vibration of leadership. Zero stands for divine protection. So Cunedda and his ‘nine-hundred horse’ was a great leader with double divine protection. Cunedda changed the history of Wales. He founded a dynasty which endured for eight centuries – a very long time. His expedition is the only example of a lasting victory. It ended when Llewellyn the Great was defeated by Edward I in 1282/3. It’s very apparent that Cunedda wanted to be of service to the world. As befits the nine, his deepest satisfaction came from knowing he helped humanity. Every great leader has a 9 somewhere in his or her blueprint. For some it is the Soul Number, for others the Destiny or Life Purpose Vibration. If 9 is a number you see often, you have leadership qualities which want to be expressed. This includes numbers such as 18, 423, 972, - any number whose root number is 9. Pay attention to the numbers in your life. Especially those you notice repeatedly. When it comes to the time and place of an important event, numerology is an incredible tool. Yesterday, I witnessed such an event. My sister Elisa’s wedding took place in Glasgow, Scotland. Elisa and John weren’t planning to get married in John’s home country. Far from it. They traveled to Washington D.C. all the way from Germany, where they live, because D.C. was my sister’s first choice. We grew up in northern Virginia, a hop and a skip away. So her heart was set on Washington. But an interesting thing happened. Very few of their invited guests were willing to come to Washington for the nuptials for one reason or another. There’s a good reason why D.C. should have never been in the cards - and why Glasgow turned out to be the ideal place for Elisa and John to get hitched. In a nutshell, Elisa and John’s Life Purpose Vibrations add up to 6 and 9, respectively. These numbers are in perfect harmony. However, John’s 9 does not harmonize with the number for Washington, which is a 4. In fact, the number 4 is in total conflict with the number 9. So, although Elisa was comfortable with the location, most of their friends and family let it be known that Washington was out of the question, a sign for them to change gear. Glasgow, Scotland on the other hand is a 6. This is a beautiful vibration for marriage, AND for both Elisa and John. As expected, all their guests made it. The whole day was an intimate, cozy affair. We felt well taken care of, and - as befits the 6 vibration - the children had a fun playground and comfortable sleeping room as well. 6 is a number of good will, of rest and all things related to family. The day couldn’t have gone more smoothly. As Elisa’s older sister, I gave a little speech at the wedding dinner last night. At the last moment I decided to mention Pythagorean Numerology and why its influence is so significant. I used Elisa and John as an example and also mentioned yesterday’s August 27/9 date as an example of the fortuitous energy surrounding the event. You could have heard a pin drop in the room. I’ve known Brian since the year 2000. He was my Pilates Instructor when we still lived in Santa Monica, California. Now Brian, his identical twin brother Kevin and I are going to collaborate on a big project. Before I tell you what it is, let me indulge a wee bit on why Pythagorean Numerology is SO spot on when it comes to two guys, who are born minutes apart and look and sound exactly the same. Brian was a champion athlete. He was a shoo-in as a goalie for the Olympic Water Polo team until he tragically got injured. While Brian was always in the limelight as a swimmer – he was Junior Olympic Champion - and as a water polo player, his brother Kevin was on the sidelines filming. Kevin’s the movie director, the behind-the-scenes guy. Brian is the subject of his latest feature-length documentary. These twin brothers are as close to each other as you can get. And yet – they have completely, utterly different destinies. What they do share, besides totally identical genes, is the same Life Purpose Number, which is derived from their birthday. The only thing they don’t share is the name they go by. And therein lies the answer to why their destinies are NOT identical. Their names give them each careers, which are unique to each of them – and different as night and day. While Kevin is always behind the lens filming, Brian performs either athletically or as an actor. Thing is, they are both expressing themselves, as befits their 3 Life Purpose Vibration. However, it is in “how” they are expressing themselves, that their paths are so different. Remember, your Destiny Vibration is derived from your name at birth. This is why identical twins can look, act and sound interchangeable, and yet have careers that are 180 degrees apart. I have come across this phenomenon so often in my identical twin clients, that I’m 100 percent convinced - only Pythagorean Numerology can account for the difference. Astrology certainly can not. Zero symbolizes the fullness of all possibilities and broadens and elevates the 1 energy. The 0 represents the whole universe. When added to a digit, such as 1, it does not change the value but raises it, making it more mature. Adding a 0 to 1 through 9 gives the vibration a higher, more universal perspective. My sister and her family left Asheville yesterday. But not before her husband turned from somewhat skeptic to complete believer. During one of our day trips to take the girls for a pony ride, they asked me about numerology and cities. So I basically tallied the numbers of various places he and my sister had lived or had always wanted to live. While I was driving our car through the gentle terrain of the Blue Ridge Mountains, I got the number on each location. Then I explained whether the vibration of every town was in harmony, compatible or in conflict with their Life Purpose Number. Even though I couldn’t see their faces, because I had to keep my eye on the road, I could feel the air get more electric with each city I looked at. Even favorite and not so favorite vacation spots were covered. That day my sister and brother-in-law confirmed in their own minds that Pythagorean Numerology is uncannily accurate. Then, my brother-in-law suddenly had a realization. After hearing about and substantiating why certain places were great and others not so great for him as well as for my sister, he said, “Numbers and names each have a unique, specific vibration. Like music. And colors.” He was taken aback by the accuracy a simple name could have on his life. I told him, “Numbers are a wonderful tool. They are active whether you know about their influence or not. Just like music. So you might as well understand the effect they have on your life, right?” He nodded. Funny. I know from experience, when I sense myself closing down, I know for sure, I better pay attention. Then, I’m always glad I did. I took my walk in the hills around our neighborhood earlier this morning. It was already getting hot, so I decided to concentrate on one particular word to get my mind off the heat. I chose the word EYE. In my head, while climbing a particularly steep incline, I added up the full word number. In this case the letter Y would total 25, instead of 7. Another example would be the letter R. As the 18th letter in the alphabet, R would be an 18 when totaling the full word number. In the case for the word EYE, the full word number is 35. Here is where it gets really interesting. Place the corresponding letters under number 35 - so 3 is the third letter, C, and 5 is the fifth letter, E. What does CE sound like? ‘See!’ Now look at 35/8, where the 8 corresponds to our 8th letter H. You get CE-H, or ‘See Each.’ As in see from each eye. Or ‘see each’ thing, person or event. I was amazed when I first began totaling the full number for specific words. Here’s another example. As I was walking downhill I picked out the word LIFE. The full word number for life is 23, which is a combination of the female number 2 and the male number 3. All of life is made up of positive and negative, male and female, yin and yang. It’s vital for life to continue to have both forces in balance. How appropriate for LIFE then to resonate to this number. When you look at the full word number 23/5 with corresponding letters, you get CBE. ‘See, Be.’ A pretty food description of life, don’t you think? Life is about seeing and being, to travel, to learn, to be free to do what you want, to experience all 5 senses. Notice that the root number is 5, which is all about freedom. When I began to realize the letters and numbers of each word literally describe the word, I was astounded. I was supposed to pick up my youngest sister Eva and her family at the airport yesterday evening. She didn’t make it. She’s come to the U.S. all the way from Barcelona, Spain. Her connecting flight from Newark was canceled due to heavy thunderstorms in the area. Her flight was the last one to Asheville. So she and her family had to scramble to get a hotel room for the night. I decided to take a look at how her Life Purpose Number matched up to the vibration for the city of Newark. As I expected, the two numbers are in conflict. Newark adds up to a 9, and her Life Purpose is a 7. These two numbers are not compatible. Now, don’t get me wrong. This doesn’t mean your flight will be delayed or cancelled in every city whose number is incompatible with your own Life Purpose Vibration. But it proves, yet again, Pythagorean Numerology is a Science of numbers. This is why I always advise my clients to live in a city whose number is in harmony or compatible to theirs. I also tell them their vacations will be more rejuvenating and relaxing if they pick a destination which is harmonious to their Life Purpose Number. Not all my clients take the advice seriously. Until it’s proven correct. One of them, whom I’ll call George, decided to take his family to the Caribbean. He was flying through Miami, a 9 city, and his Life Purpose Number is a 4. Numbers 9 and 4 are conflict vibrations. No delays in Miami - a good thing. But when he arrived at his destination, things didn’t go so well. He got food poisoning and was sidelined for most of the week with cramps and fatigue, while his family went off and explored the island. Funny thing is, he had asked me what number the island added up to. I told him it was a 3 vibration, and that he might not be able to completely relax there. That’s ALL I said. George couldn’t imagine such a thing – after all it was the Caribbean. However, since his episode on the island he consults me before every vacation.
